Pick Your Material

For Steel Cable Ladder Systems, we often use three materials for customers to compare and select. The prices and service lives of different materials are different:

1.Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium (ZAM)

This is our top recommendation.

No need for secondary surface treatment, but also anti-corrosion and anti-rust function.

The Tech:  It made by Zinc, Aluminum, and Magnesium.

The Self-Healing: You cut the tray? The edge won't rust. The coating migrates to cover the cut.

The Finish: It’s smooth. No sharp zinc drips like Hot-Dip. Your cables are safer.

The Price: Cheaper than Hot-Dip, and easy to processing.

Hot-Dip Galvanized (HDG)

The Good is the coating is thick. It’s tough. It has been the industry standard for 50 years.

The Bad is that it can be rough. Sometimes there are zinc burrs. You need to check the inside rail before pulling wire.

Best option for heavy industrial outdoor sites that demand the classic "HDG" spec on the drawing.

Pre-Galvanized (GI) - Indoor Only

We make this from steel sheets that were already galvanized at the steel mill.

The Reality: It’s shiny and clean. It’s also the cheapest option.

The Limit Using. Do not use this outside. The cut edges will rust eventually.

Usually installed area includes offices, warehouses. Dry places.

The "2-Meter" Logistics Advantage Shipping costs are crazy these days.

Many factories sell 3-meter lengths. That sounds good until you try to load a container.

You end up with dead space. We standardized on 2000mm (2 Meters).

● Loading: We stack them tight across the container width. We Maximize the CBM.

● Handling: One guy can carry a 2m section. Two guys are needed for 3m.

● Elevators: A 2m section fits in a standard service elevator. No need to haul it up the stairs.  

Note: Steel Cable Ladder Systems can also meet your requirements. But 2 meters is a more economical choice.

Steel Cable Ladder Systems use standard splice plates. Bolt them on. Done.

For ZAM ladders, we supply ZAM hardware.

FAQ

Is ZAM really better than Hot-Dip?

In corrosion tests? Yes. ZAM lasts about 5 to 10 times longer in salt spray tests. Plus, it is smoother. No sharp edges to snag your expensive cables.

Can I walk on your cable ladder?

Our 2.0mm and 2.5mm ladders are strong. They can hold a person. But safety rules usually say "No." Use it for cables, not as a catwalk.

How do I cut the ZAM ladder on site?

Use a grinder or a chop saw. You don't need to paint the cut end. The ZAM coating will "heal" over the cut within a few weeks of exposure. It’s chemistry, not magic.
