FRP Grating Walkway Fiberglass

FRP Grating Walkway Fiberglass is a new type of walkway developed specifically for rooftop solar systems. Made primarily of fiberglass or carbon fiber, it overcomes the heavy weight and complex installation issues of traditional metal walkways in rooftop photovoltaic systems. Currently, FRP walkways have become a key component of photovoltaic systems.
Brand:Topfencesolar
Product Material:Fiberglass, Resin, Calcium powder, Phosphor powder
Application:Roof walkway
Service Life:25 years

The FRP Grating Walkway Fiberglass system features modular walkway panels and supporting structures made from FRP composite materials. FRP walkways not only ensure safe passage but also reduce stress on roof structures, extending the lifespan of solar systems. They are currently widely used in solar projects, including industrial and commercial factory roofs and public building rooftops.

FRP grating material is inherently highly chemically resistant, withstanding harsh environments like acid, alkali, salt spray, and humidity. Unlike metal walkways, it doesn't require anti-corrosion coatings (such as galvanizing or painting). Installation of FRP walkways requires no complex welding or cutting, requiring only bolts or clips for fastening. For example, installing a 1,000-square-meter solar system walkway can be completed by a team of two to three people in just three to five days, resulting in very low installation and maintenance costs.

Case: Coastal rooftop solar projects

The project features a colored steel roof (load-bearing limit ≤0.5kN/m²), a 5MW photovoltaic capacity, and requires a walkway area of approximately 1,200 ㎡. Located in a high-salt fog area (approximately 3 km from the coastline), the walkway is required to have a service life of no less than 25 years. Finally, we use our 800mm wide, 15mm thick FRP walkway board (surface diamond anti-slip pattern), matching FRP support (height adjustable, range 100-200mm), and 316 stainless steel bolts for the connection.

Application data and effects:

Load performance

The FRP walkway load is approximately 0.12kN/m², which is well below the roof load limit.

Corrosion resistance

The project has been in operation for 5 years without any rust or deformation.

Construction efficiency

The 3-person team completed the installation in 4 days, shortening the construction period by 50%.

Maintenance costs

Only 4 surface cleanings in 5 years, no additional maintenance costs.

Features

FRP Grating Walkway Fiberglass

1. Due to its light weight, the cost of roof structure reinforcement is reduced.

2. FRP walkways can last for more than 25 years without noticeable corrosion, which is highly compatible with the service life ofsolar panels and reduces the frequency and cost of subsequent maintenance and replacement.

3. FRPgrating material is an excellent insulating material that can effectively prevent operation and maintenance personnel from facing the risk of electric shock due to conductive metal walkways during passage.

4. Compared with brittle cement walkways or easily deformed plastic walkways, it can better withstand impact loads and is not easy to break or damage.
